Dead rat in pond

Can anybody give me any advice on what to do.
I have just had a look in our pond and there is a dead rat there,I can,t force my self to go anywhere near it ...what should i do ...:(

    Put your rubber gloves on and go out with a black bin bag. It isn't going to bite you.

    For the record, it goes into the non-recyclables bin. :)

    A rake and a shovel. I'm not sure I'd want to touch a dead rat either, but come on!
    I can afford anything that I want.

    call the council. we had the ratman out recently and said if we saw one floating in the pond to call them asap, apparently they can burst and spread all sorts of umpska:eek:
