What next?

Quite inexperienced e-bayer (5 feedback) any advice how to proceed if no reply from seller. Am I being too impatient with overseas seller?

19th July did BIN on item from Hong Kong Seller with 816 feedbacks and 99.6% positive. Paid via paypal, 21st July got told seller not in Hong Kong for a further 3 days. I sent a message yesterday asking when would post but no response as yet. Just sent another chase mentioning further delays or a lack of response could impact my feedback and comments.


Am I handling correctly? any suggestions?

Keep an eye on the sellers feedback, if he starts to get any negs or stops selling generally then start a paypal chargeback ASAP.

It is quite common for large sellers in the far east to make no contact, they do the whole thing remotely and just ship when they are ready. I personaly don't like Far East sellers as they can be very very slow as they deal in bulk and they tend not to correspond with buyers to cut down the time they spend dealing with sales.

Funnily enough i purchased from a seller in hong kong on the same day, mine turned up on tuesday. But i ordered previously, same location different seller, and it took the bast part of 3 weeks to arrive.
I also purchased 2 other items from the uk the same day neither of which have arrived so give it a bit before you stress too much ( i only hope i can take my own advice !! )
I wouldnt worry as you have been told that they are away, if you want to post the item number im sure me and others will look into it and see if we can spot anything that might help. (pm me if you would rather not display your id)

I agree with Soo keep an eye on feedback but to be honest I wouldn't be expecting it for a few days yet 10-14 days is average in my experience from far-east (you were also slow in paying!). I would wait at least a week longer.

In my view BIN stands for:- Instant purchase = Instant payment!

I read it that buyer bought via BIN on 19th, paid by paypal and on the 21st got a message from seller saying wouldn't be in the country.

Thanks for advice on being bit more patient, Shelly's right, did BIN paid straight away.

Seller still has lots listed (chunwai_1996 sorry don't know how to copy across!!) delivery of 10-14 days seems reasonable just panicking as not had delays or no communication before.

Joys of getting expresscard firewire card for bargain dell laptop!! wish I'd found one in UK now :-)
