This is a post on behalf of my good friend Jane........

Her husband is self employed and they are wondering which car company is the best to go for if they want to lease a car for business purposes?

Any ideas?:)

    Not being facetious....but the cheapest.

Make sure you get anything in writing (eg VED for term of contract) be wary of paying broker the deposit (a few are going bust just now)

Ling comes on here and although I haven't used her she seems to offer reasonable deals.

They adjust rates daily for every make and model based on price, residual value, and service and maintainance costs. You need to pick your car and then get several quotes. Most fleet managers if they are not tied will get three quotes as a minimum but I remember one fleet mgr in Cornwall who would get 20 quotes on every car she bought. The differences in quotes was shocking.

In terms of quality its also about support as much as price. Will they sort out a replacement if yours is off the road, is it like for like, who does their breakdown, etc.

You got to read the small print.

I can recomend Ling, but she is a broker rather than a lease company - my car is a Citroen and its leased via Ling through PSA's own finance house.

One thing thats key is that unless you are set on a specific model then be open minded as you will find that certain models will be cheap one week if they have a batch to shift, but back up the next. My car is now 80 -100 pcm more than I am paying for it now
