majorca car hire

Options
Will be going to Cala d'Or in a couple of weeks time. Any body know of a good hire comp in the resort? I've looked at a couple of the main sites but none of them seem to do a local collection/drop of point. Only going to need it for aprox 3/4 days.
Nice to save.

Why don't you just hire it at Palma airport? You will be able to collect it when you arrive and leave it there when you leave.

From memory, there is a local car hire company next to the Spar supermarket in the resort centre. I don't know how good they are, as we used Carjet and picked the car up from the airport.

Cala D'Or is a lovely resort and it's one of my fave holiday destinations. You'll have a smashing time there
Here I go again on my own....
  • I was on hoilday in Cala D'or 2 weeks ago, and last year aswell.
I booked my car for 4 days from https://www.holidayautos.co.uk, and selected the collection and drop-off point of Cala D'or (I always select the damage excess waiver, just in case). They use a local company called Hiper rental and I have found them to be very good - I always get an upgrade. If you can drop the car off at 10am, you will save the cost of that days rental.

If you have an egg card you can also get a 10% discount

I have not tried to book direct with hiper, but thier website is:

Good luck, and have a good holiday.

Thanks for this info. The wife has had an e-mail from holiday autos and found that a fiesta type car would cost about £60 + damage excess waiver so approx £68. This is for 4 days! On the booking site there is a place for a code! Don't suppose you know of any.
    Nice to save.
  • Sorry, I don't have a code.
I had a flyer for a "summer bonus", but this expired on the 30th June.

If you do book Hiper, let me know and I will give you directions, if you need them.

£17 per day seems cheap enough,
Theres plenty of buses round the island cheap and less stressfull.
Sample the local vino as well.
    Happy hols

Holiday autos worked out cheaper for us, we need a people carrier and it was just under £200 for 5 days, typically we had already booked with another company which was £50 more and partner didn't want to cancel!

I think the price you have been quoted is brilliant and I'd go for it!

Thanks for all the advice. Looked at "virginone" and it works out at £59.87 inc damage excess so I'm going to book through them. Also booked car parking through Tesco club card vouchers, so saved a nice few quid altogether!!
Now does any body know how I can cut down on the wifes and 2 teenage girls luggage or do I put the money I,ve saved towards excess bagage allowance????? The eldest girl is allready upset about having to leave some of her shoes behind!!
    .Thanks again
    Nice to save.
