know this is a stupid question, but first time i have to return an item bought on ebay - item was described as new but i think it has been used, seller does not agree, but has offered a refund if i return item. should i pay postage for return or ask them to refund me selling price + return postage?
** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **

If the item has been misdescribed then the seller should pay for you to return it.
