Hey everyone,
I was just wondering..I have a flight booked for this sunday and there is a possibility that i wont be able to go so i may need to cancel it. If i do cancel it i realise i will lose my money but is there any possible way of saving any of it?!
I imagine everyone is going to tell me that i've lost all the money but if theres any help anyone can offer it would be greatly appreciated..

Is there a LEGITIMATE, insurance backed reason that you could give?

See the fare rules. If it says non refundable, then its non refundable. However you should be able to claim the taxes back."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

Thats a controversial flag to be flying. Basically, as pin says. Most places were will try to deny knowledge of claiming back taxes and charge a fee as its a pain. If you have insurance you could create a reason and make a dodgy claim. Easy to do, but, of course, illegal. And if, you know, your history...0

There is a legitimate reason but not one that insurance will cover unfortunately..
I notice a couple of you talk about claiming taxes back? How is this possible and does it really work?
All your replies are really appreciated (except MTCs);)0 -

Even if i wanted to make a dodgy claim i'm sure they would investigate any claim i made thoroughly and i'd be caught out!
MTC - you starting to think we should move the middle east debate over here, some people may not find it!;)
and i love controversy!
Thanks for your help dixie0 -
Taxes - get in touch with travel agent
Controversy - I love it too. And eating babies.
Insurance - do you have a friend who is a doctor? Check the policy - there are loads of things you can easily claim on and not get caught. Again, I know MSE is against illegal things and all that so of course, don't do any of this. And if, you know, your history...0 -

Unfortunately i don't have any doctor friends but what if the person i was supposed to staying with was in another country? would i have to get a doctors report sent from that country or just merely state the problem? what if due to unforseen circumstances that person was unable to accomodate us anymore?
thanks0
