£15k new/ex-demo car????
Missus wants a car - criteria:
Automatic
5 door
Very low mileage (under 5,000)
Under one year old
Leather seats
Air con
Sat nav
Reliable
Max 1.8 litre
Petrol or diesel
Golf sized
Her present car is a Golf but its not 10 years old until September and has been a second car - just for school and shopping runs - she will now be doing more like 12-15,000 miles per annum.
She wants a Golf BUT they are way overpriced/ over budget which as the title says is £15k.
Is it worth part-exchanging or is it better to do straight cash for a better deal?
What cars do people suggest?
Thanks in advance!!!

It is a specific list- would you get Kia and Hyundais with that spec commonly?
Focus is overpriced, starts at £17,800 . Do get discounted a bit but still might be better out there.
Fiat Bravo is a good car and excellently priced, but I'm not sure I about the dualogic auto box and reliability. Same with all those systems and not just Fiat. I'm sure plenty have but that is my view.
Looking on VW website there is a few auto Golfs with around 6/7K for £13.5K but probably without leather and satnav (get a TomTom and save cash
) Might not be a bad deal as they hold value if you can
Anybody going to suggest the Octavia but again might be a struggle to get everything on the list.
I think it might be worth compromising on some of the things.0 -

this isn't an auto but it it might be worth emailing them for a quote.0 -
Having read all the advice on here and elsewhere - we have now decided to up our budget by a couple of thousand.
She did not like the Hyundais at all - I liked the look of the Seat Leon BUT
It seems we can get a B Class Merc - however as people have pointed out a TomTom seems a better option and opens up more options.
Will test drive at the weekend.0 -
