Home Insurance sharing with non-family

Hi all
Sorry if this has been posted in another thread - I couldn't find anything. I'm sharing a flat with a non-family member (the flat is hers and the furniture is all hers) and am really struggling to find competitive home insurance. I only need contents and only own enough to fit in my own small bedroom - probably only a maximum of £8,000 including one high value item (my laptop)
I'm really struggling to find a good deal as when I use comparison sites despite filling in information about sharing, they come up with deals that when I check the terms and conditions you can't be living with anyone that's not your family.
Anyone found any good deals recently?
Thank you!

What you are looking for is sometimes referred to as Personal Possessions Insurance and can cover the situation where you are a lodger.
If you search for this, you will find a number of different providers offering various policies. Also worth speaking to a decent local broker ( not Swintons)The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
