Food Shopping, how much?

I don't count booze as I never order it in the food shop . Not really an indoor drinker, in a pub is another matter...0

£120 sounds about right, for me and hubby its about £25 a week, don't drink much, no meat just veggies and we take leftovers for lunch most days, good plan on doing an online shop once every two weeks, don't veggies tend to go funny though?
Would love to shop online instead and use money off codes but couldn't spend £50 a week.Yes Your Dukeiness

Yeah well we started off doing £50 every 2weeks as thats the amount you need to spend to get the discounts like free delivery.
As for veg we usually get frozen brocoli etc. If we want fresh veg we take it out the £20 money we use for bread and milk. I was looking on our online account and it's very rare we've gone over £100 a month on shopping0 -
I would love to say we spend that much but we spend approx £500mth on food  but thereis the 6 of us and we spend more in summer as there is more summer fruits and BBQ's to eat :T
We don't buy read meals and very very few convenience foods but no matter how/where we shop we also spend the same. We spend almost £50 a week just on fruit  I look forward to the days when we can shop for just 2 again we'll be rich :rotfl:
I really think your doing great! :money:Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

Go on the grocery challenge thread and that gives you ideas about what people spend and how to cut down.
I have £250 for three adults and that doesn't include booze, anything other than basic toiletries (i.e. not my face cream) and we don't take packed lunches much.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

I posted on another topic but would like some tips on cutting down the food shopping bill.
At the moment me and the missus spend around £120 a month, whether that's alot I don't know. That includes online shopping at Asda (works out alot cheaper for us than going to pick it in the store) and bread and milk during the month. We do an online shop every two weeks to cut down on the delivery costs and the dates always seem to be good so more often than not we get a full two weeks worth of lunch for work.
We don't buy much of the 'Smart price' stuff to be honest. Especially when it comes to food. Fizzy and fruit juice are always on offer anyway.
I thought i'd ask on here as no doubt a family of six somewhere here spends half of what us two do. Any tips welcome!
£120 a month and you want to cut that down
I spend £80 a week for me and my husband and thats cutting back and buying asda smartprice !I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I'd say that sounds about right, I spend about the same on myself and two daughters. I batch cook, slow cook and bake and we always have lots of fruit and veg. I won't compromise on somethings such as a quality loo roll, washing liquid, fabric softener, cleaning products, soap and shampoos so I think we do quite well.

We spent no more than £100 per month, that includes two adults and two cats(big bag for around £20, includes booze etc so that seems a lot for just two of you.
I do one big shop online, then get smaller ones weekly including stuff for lunches etcNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
gawd im pretty mean then at £35 a month just for me (food and cleaning stuff indoors). i do buy a fair amount of reduced and basics items though plus a fair amount of beans on toast although i do keep an eye out for a deal.

Partner and I spend roughly £120 a month for the two of us. I do an almost daily shop in Sainsburys, don't buy any alcohol / cleaning products (did I just admit that?!), ready meals etc. Buy more & more Basics things which are always fine.I Cook from scratch, buy reduced items as & when I see them (not often) and we take packed lunches to work. A week of evening meals tends to be: veg pasta bake with bacon, chicken curry rice & naan, homemade pizzas, meat veg & dumpling casserole, fish fingers & chips, lasagne, sunday roast. Only cutback that could prob be made would be not buying taste the difference seeded bread, but it's nice!0
