Balance transfer for the disabled

Hi Y'all
I am a disabled guy with two balance transfer cards which I got before I was termed disabled
I get incapacity benefit plus a pension every month and I am paying minument payments way in advance of the payment day so I am keeping up with it and have never missed once but everytime I am honest when applying for another balance transfer card I keep on getting told I cant have one because of my circumstances
Is their anyone out there who can guide me in the right direction for help or if there is anyone with influence out there looking at these forums isnt it time the disabled had there own terms too
Thank you

  • Hi. We are in the same boat. Wife has become disabled and I am her carer. We are not in any arrears on anything. I had ltsb this month wanting to put up ther rates again. Twice in one year. We have moved in to rented and cleared off a lot of our debts. It would be nice to get a lower rate so we can clear off the rest quicker instead they keep increasing it. Feel like going bankrupt to teach them a lesson. We feel they have allready had the money back twice over. Due to our ages we will probally not work again so not going to want a mortgage or loan.

Can't think on any card that's specifically aimed at disabled people, pretty sure they all look at income and credit scoring the exact same way.

Current standard advice is not to apply for more than 1 card every 3 months, and the longer between searches on your report the better.

It's also worth spending the £2 to get a copy of your credit report just to ensure there aren't any "old" accounts still open that you think are closed.

If there is any freelance work you can do from home even, then you can simply put self-employed on future applications. You're still being honest with applications, but slanting them towards their "standard customer profile".

Remember that total income can include pensions, benefits, savings interest (grossed up), ebay profit and anything else you can justify.
