Item not as described

Bought a pair of jeans BNWOT 30/32. Item arrived and I must admit that they certainly looked as new. Problem is, however, that they'd cut five inches off the bottoms!!!! Now 30/27!! Obviously emailed the seller asking to be reimbursed not only the cost of item and postage but also the postage to send them back. Recieved Email back:
"i was selling these jeans for a friend who was clearing her wardrobe ready for her new baby. She simply asked me to list the items for her and sent me the pictures adn measurements. I can only apologise for this misunderstanding and i shall certainly be having words!"
Fair enough, but no mention of a refund of course. I take it that the seller is legally responsible and her friend has nothing to do with my predicament?

It's the sellers responsibility to ensure items listed on their account are accurately described. The fact that the seller is claiming that the item is a friends is totally irrelevant.
I would email the seller again and ask about being refunded as the jeans were misdescribed and are of no use to you.
Did you pay via PayPal? If the seller doesn't respond to your email then I would start a dispute through PayPal.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
