bt charges

I have BT Option 1/2 the cheapest one and Broadband. I hardly use the phone maybe about £12 max cost in phone calls a quarter. Is there a cheaper way to get just line rental etc.
I seem to have an expensive way of running the internet though I would like to stay with Wanadoo.
My father knew of somebody paying £4.50 line rental, does this seem right?

Thank you

Their are alternative suppliers of line rental but none as low as £4.50p as far as i am aware.Eg Post Office £9.95 a month.

Other suppliers charge for Caller Display BT dont.Is this feature important to you?

Are you using the likes of 1899/Primus Saver mentioned on this site to reduce your phone bills further?

Personally i would stay with BT.

You could save a little by changing your landline provider BUT the swings are far larger than the roundabouts IMHO.

Are you paying BT by Direct Debit - so the line rental is the minimum (£11 per month including VAT)?

If not, change to that a.s.a.p. and then click on the 'HERE' link in my signature below for some suggestions for other ways to save.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
