in Credit cards
Got a mail through from first direct.
If you have not had a first direct credit card (standard or gold) in the last 365 days, then your a new customer.
If you apply before 28feb05 for the card then they send you 6 bottles of wine (dunno what type)
No minimum spend on the card, you dont even have to be accepted for the card (i phoned to check) you just have to apply for it!
Drink anyone? *hic*
Also to go with this (on the same flyer) there was a deal which might appeal to stoozers.....
Open a savings account (Everyday Savings Account, Bonus Savings or Savings Account- Savings Account has the best rate for instant access with fdir) between 03jan05 and 31mar05 and deposit £2500 or more and they'll credit your account with £15. When I checked on the T&C's with customer services it turns out you have to have the 2500 in the account for 28 day (a month) however on £2500 you'll be hard pressed to find any savings account that would offer that amount of interest in just one month (i think). Obviously I wouldnt advocate putting any more than the minimum in but you get £15 plus interest for not much work. Hence where my 0% for 5 months egg aniversary offer is going
Edit
Found T&C's
£15 savings account incentive

Deposits must be maintained in the account for a minimum of 3 months. Balances withdrawn during this period will result in the £15 cash back incentive becoming repayable
The £15 will be paid into your savings account within 28 days of the credit being received
Maximum of one cash back payment per customer or joint account relationship.

Credit card might be alrightish (probably better out there) but savings account with 3month tie in makes it not worth it, stick it in an isa

The wine offer has been around for a while though its a good one (see the Sticky Freebies thread above), but the savings one is quite new. There is also £20 cashback for taking out various products such as travel insurance.
For a list of all their current offers click here.0 -
Is there a promotional code for the free wine on the form? Worth knowing so that you can quote it to them on the phone if necessary.
Many thanks

Anyone got the free wine, if so whats it worth ?,
Is it worth flogging on ebay ?0 -
Did anyone get the wine from this credit card offer? My wife applied for a current account (supposed to be £35) and a credit card at the same time but still hasn't had either incentive?
Many thanks

Will the moneysaver who left his six bottles of wine at Euston Station please call in to the lost property office, where the man who found them has just been handed in .........0
-
It's very nice wine - Laithwaites - and excellent quality.0

The letter I received today (the application was back in February) said "unfortunately the offer to open a Credit Card and receive six free bottles of wine was only open to existing customers" (which I was not).
I am sure I could complain to the advertising standards authority; because the web page said nothing of the sort; but at a practical level can I have some observations on my next step here...0
