FTB HIP question.HELP!

I was told by the solicitor that I need to pay for sth called "Search" when buying the property.

But Ive just obtained the HIP of the property, a section of which is the SEARCH which has been done 3 weeks ago.

In this case Im wondering do I still need to pay and get a Search done?

    There is no need for your Solicitor to do the Searches again if the are only 3 weeks old. A lot of Solicitors will push for you to have new searches because then they can make further money out of you.

    Remember....the Solicitor works for YOU.
    My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)

    The solicitor said that its some leagal requirement. I fully understand but this one is very recently done so I thought no need 2 do the extra work too.

    Correct. Query this with the solicitor. Refuse to agree/pay unless there is a convincing reason.

    I too have come across some lawyers who do this. A busy office can make quite a pile doing this.
