Do Virgin charge to change flight dates

Virgin wont speak to me as the booking I made was for my husband.

He is flying to Dubai next week but needs to return after 1 week instead of 2 that I booked for him. Its flight only.

Their website is down today so I don't know?

They chap on the phone would not tell me if they do or don't charge to change. It is an e ticket booked a month ago.

  • It almost certainly depends on what ticket you've bought.

Basically, the more you pay the more flexibility you get. If he's travelling in Upper Class or Premium Economy then his fare is more likely to be 'flexible'. If it's a bucket price Economy ticket then it's almost certainly fixed.

Without logging onto their website or speaking to an agent it's impossible to know either way.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Finally got through on the phone. They want to charge £400 to change the ticket!!

Does anyone know a way round it with Virgin
  • If Virgin will change your ticket it is usual to pay an admin fee and any difference in price between the flights you've got and the flights you want. If you put the new dates into the Virgin website what price does it quote? You could try different dates/times to see if there's anything cheaper and call them back if you find something.

£1200 is an awful lot of money to lose!
