What were the feedbacks of the people you were buying from?

Without seeing the feedback scores etc then it's hard to guess and yes paypal and ebay can be bad but with a few negs with only 30 feedbacks then i wouldn't have bought from them in the first place.

I know that doesn't help you but feedback is there to help you judge a seller.

If 1 in 30 people are unhappy and brave enough to leave a neg just think how many weren't brave enough to do so! many users never get the negs they deserve as people worry about getting a retaliatory neg in return, so depending on what a neg says, one neg can be enough to put me completely off a seller.

Another tip is always to pay via paypal funded by a credit card, that way you can always fall back on a CC claim if paypal don't come through.

If the seller isn’t registered any longer, you cannot leave feedback.

Can anyone confirm this? My understanding was that the credit card's responsibility is to ensure that the payment reaches paypal, and no more.

You can clawback on your credit card if Paypal dont manage to get the full amount back. I've done this when it was for an item of £500 and Paypal only managed to get back £10. You need a claim form from your credit card company, fill it in and post it off together with any evidence you have. If they find in your favour then no fee, otherwise £5 fee. You can't do it online because of financial rules, more is the pity. Basically your credit card stings Paypal, so beware Paypal might send you one of their we are no happy with you e-mails theatening to terminate your account if you do it again. Smile, they don't mean it, just a warning shot across your bows.
