Travelling from Belfast to Kerry...Please help!

Have just booked return flights to Belfast with good old Ryanair for a few days in the Easter holidays to visit family, but have just found out that they will now be in Kerry during this week.
Is there an easy-ish way to get from Belfast City Airport to Kerry without too much stress or cost? As its Ryainair it will probably cost more than the flight originally cost to change it now.
I've looked into booking return flights to Kerry for the same dates but these are coming up at over £125 (and I would lose the other flights which seems like a waste).
Am happy to travel by bus / coach / train etc.
Thanks in advance...

It looks like you would have to travel to Dublin to pick up the train to Kerry. It is a bit of a journey to Kerry from Belfast, as it is about 7 hour drive, if you hired a car from belfast airport.0 -
I'm no expert but in my experience public transport in ROI & NI isn't great. Google 'translink' for transport in NI (where you'll be starting). Car hire might be easiest but it would be a long drive as you are nearly going the length of the country! The roads can be pretty rubbish in Ireland & there is a lack of road signs but you could take a couple of days over it & tour around a bit, it's a beautiful country. Or just accept you won't see your family & have a few days in Belfast...... Good luck with whatever you choose :-)1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£70000 -
I live in NI and it is a long drive to Kerry, prob driving is the only way to go unless you fly.
Honestly, I would just stay in NI for your holiday, loads of things to do, its fab place.0
