The problem is since BT have been doing the free 0845 and 0870 deals now more and more companies are changing to 0844 and 0871 numbers

But this is a latest change due to the greedy Virgin Man. It's not like NTL's charges were the highest. In fact NTL was quite competitive.

The latest paper Bill I have is Apr 08.

The most frequent number I used in that month is 08444392323 which is supposed to be 3p per minute. Have a 180minues phone call on the bill price ex VAT 4.65. If we add VAT that was then 17.5% get 5.46. So the call was correctly charged at 3p per minute and connection charge must have been 6p.

Through conversations with VM Customer Service I understand that price increases were made about a year ago. So in my case in just one go they increased charges - without giving adequate warning to me.
