Carpet gripper rods coming through carpet

Hello all

Can someone please advise me on a problem I have with my new carpet?

I got it fitted a few days ago and when I walked over the edge of it yesterday I something spiked into my foot. I had a look and it seems that the carpet gripper rods are poking through the carpet the whole way round the room!

I got the carpet from a local place in NI and the fitter was organised by them. I had to pay the fitter myself and now I'm wondering where I stand with it all.

Also, how can they fix it? Is it a matter of the whole carpet being taken up and put down again with shorter gripper rods?

Thanks

R.

Only guessing but sounds like the fitter has used the wrong grippers for the carpet so the fitter is the person to blame not the place you bought the carpet from.
