    Debt-free and Proud!

    Good morning everyone,

Talking about sales and bargains, I picked up a bargain this week:

One of my colleagues at work was talking about selling his motorbike which has a current list price of £1400, but he didn't think that he could get less than half that, due to the current climate and the bike's dischevelled looks - I jokingly offered him £200 and he accepted!

The bike looks very tatty but the engine is mechanically sound - I've helped him with it since he bought it 3 or so years ago, so I know it's history well - and it has an alarm/immobiliser, and other accessories. I couldn't believe it, so I double checked and treble checked that he was happy to take £200, and he explained that he would rather have an easy transaction with me, than have the hassle that comes with advertising the bike, and trying to sell it/convince a load of strangers to buy it.

So, it's a win win situation - he gets an easy quick hassle-free cash transaction, and I get a bargin - I reackon that I can sell the bike in a year (should I wish) and the sale will more than cover the costs spent using the bike - so fingers crossed, leaving me in profit!

Anyway, with that spend, and other associated costs (insurance, etc) my pledge has been blown out of the water this week - so I'm definitely red.

Good luck everyone else with bargain hunting - this week appears to be the week for it!

Finished up with £3.30p so within budget but not as much within as I had planned. Have taken my £80 cash for the week today but it was my turn to pay for my friends lunch so £10.70p already spent. I have to do the grocery shopping tomorrow and I have a birthday to fund on Monday so its going to be a tight week this week and I still haven't saved anything to pay off the credit card.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

Got a couple of bargains in Tesco last night! A pair of ugg type boots in brown, reduced to £5 with 20% off so £4! And a pair of lovely purple flats reduced to £7 with 20% off so £5.60!
    Total £9.60 :)

So I have just scraped in at green with 40p left to spare!
