I have a Sony K850i on vodafone that i'd like to unlock as a spare, they don't appear to be possible to unlock for free its out of contract and currently on Vodafone.
Is it possible to do it for free or whats the cheapest i can get it unlocked for?

Hi Simon_B
It's always a good idea to keep a spare phone in case of any emergency.
You can see how to get this code free of charge here.
All the best

Most certainly, it's always a good idea to keep a spare 'phone if you've got a K850i.
Do a Google search on K850i Blue Ring of Death.
Worst 'phone I ever had. Worst camera, too: a huge disappointment.
Took the SIM and SD cards out of mine and threw it into a lake, in the end.
You'd be mad to keep one as a spare for emergencies; it could cost you your life.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

i think the reliability of SE phones took a turn for the worse after they started using the DB3150 platform starting with the K850i. I used to be a huge fan of SE phones during the days of the k750/w800, k800/k810 & w810 when they ran on the rock solid DB2010/DB2020 platforms and had decent features.
My modded K810i (which runs on the rock solid DB2020 platform) is still going strong after nearly 3 years of use.0
