Greenhouse help please

Hi

I am just about to start on my veggy garden and would like a greenhouse. I've seen a polycarbonate greenhouse in b&q which is 6x4 ft for £160 but i'm not sure if this is the best price out there. Any suggestions please?

Thank you :)

    Hi
Focus have been advertising a Aluminium Greenhouse 6'x4' on offer from £239.99 to £149.99 but on the same page is a voucher where you get £20 off when you spend £100 so brings it to £129.99.
The page advertising this has been in a few of the daily papers over the last few days, mine was in the Daily Mail on Friday.
If it doesn't help you it may help someone.
I have dreamily had my eye on it!
P.s The offer of £20 extra off finishes on Wednesday 17th March though!

I've seen the 1 in focus, it is a glass greenhouse (horticultural), with overlapping glazing.......would be ok if there are no children / pets in the household, this type of glass is easily broken.

I will have to go and have a look at the 1 at b&q..........ideally i would like a toughened glass greenhouse, as i'm so clumsy lol.

The ULTIMATE models are clad in glass clear panels of semi-rigid sheet cut to size with 5 year guarantee against deterioration which like flexible PVC has the same heat retention ultra violet stabilisation and safety properties, but looks even more like glass. The cut to size panels are easily clipped to the frame with attractive white or green trim eliminating all those clips normally used.

In addition ULTIMATE greenhouses have translucent twin wall roofing panels for added insulation and direct sunlight protection.
The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.
  • A friend of our bought a cheap green house from the internet,(but they sell them in some B&Qs) The name escapes me ,but the panes were polycarbonate and quite unusual in that they were a square-sided domed shape. The structure refused to stay rigid and the panes fall out at the slightest breeze. It is unusable, after the winter weather and they are still trying to get a refund.
As with most things, you get what you pay for.
We bought an Elite from "Two Wests and Elliot" and have been very pleased with it. (no connection with the Co.) They delivered on time and were very helpful. They have all the accessories to fit, too.
    Happy gardening!

I have one of them, mine was re-badged as B & Q. Had it so long I have forgotten when I got it, must be five years at least

It does the job, and has stood the test of time, gales & snow, but the roof was prone to neighbour's kid air rifle but easily patched with squirt of silicone, and a word in his shell like has stopped that

The instructions are not too clear, but any competent handy DIYer will cope with assembling it, I secured mine to breeze blocks, which raised the height & also prevents it blowing away

PS, my neighbour has another make, the panels are clipped in & blow out every time a gale comes along, and as we are near South Coast this is at least monthly

    Thanks all

The Focus one looks good at the moment due to the price! Has anyone seen the ad in today's papers please?
