Current account not appearing on credit report

Hi
I just got a copy of my credit report from Experian, and there is no sign of my current account on it.
I've had the account for about 17 years, and it hasn't gone overdrawn or had an overdraft limit, for at least 3 years.
Does anyone know why it's not showing? I worry that if I apply for credit and they ask if I have a current account, I say yes, but it's not on my report, lenders might think I'm lying? What should I do?
Many thanks!
PS the account is with Clydesdale Bank.

have you look at your Equifax report0 -
It is most likely because it was opened 17 years ago.
Accounts opened before 1999, I think, did not have T+Cs that allowed your details to be passed on to the CRAs.
My main current account with Nationwide, opened in 1988, is not reported.
The fact that it is not reported has never caused me any problems when applying for credit.0 -
Hello.

I have umpteen credit accounts. Including a credit card account with the Clydesdale Bank. This account is not notified to any of the 3 credit reference places.
I'd say it's cause the Clydesdale Bank are cheapskates and that to "share" information costs them more!
Not sure if it's to do with how long your relationship is with the bank, more that it's to do with WHO the bank is!
I am surprised the Clydesdale Bank is still live and kicking today.0 -
\Many thanks for all your replies! I suppose then if lenders know that I've had the account for a long time they'll know that's why it's not reported...
I've always found the Clydesdale excellent, especially when I had to stop working due to ill health, and even though I live in England now I've stuck with them. They're known for having stricker lending requirements, which is probably why they have consistently made profits, unlike many of the major banks... lol, never thought I'd be sticking up for a bank!?!
Oh, haven't got my equifax report yet as they don't take maestro! This is the first time ever that I've not been able to pay for something with it!0 -
millym - without your account details I can't be 100% sure but from what you're saying, it looks like you don't actually have any credit per se by way of your current account - no overdraft. So you've neither a credit line or an application for one to report.
When you apply for new credit, you'll be asked if you have a current account plus supplementary questions about the facilities it has - like an overdraft, so don't worry about someone thinking you're telling fibs on your form!“Official Company Representative

I have an "issue" that is quite the opposite. I got an email alert from Credit Expert advising me of an addition or deletion of an account. When i checked it, it transpired that Clydesdale have decided to add my current account, which i very rarely use. I find it strange that this has never appeared on my report but now, some 14 years after opening Clydesdale have decided to add it? There are no problems with the account but its just seems odd that they have just decided to add this now. Any suggestions as to why?0
