Co-Op Cashminder ~~~ BEWARE!!!

Hi All

For those of you thinking of using or are using the Co-Op Cashminder account, please note they DO NOT up-grade your account after your BR discharge for SIX years!!!

So what EVER they promise you or have told you it is a LIE!!!

We are now taking them to the Financial Ombudsman...

most people know they dont upgrade you after discharge.

    Thanks anyway sizzler:)
  • That's NOT what they told us when we opened the account (whilst within BR).

I did like the fact that admitted and said sorry to their LIE in writing to us!!!

    Hi stuart,

I allways thought you did not get your account upgraded for about two or three years. When I opened mine they did not say anything. I was just glad to get an account.

Did they give you it in writing?

  • Hi Sizzler.

Because I made a complaint to the bank and they listerned to the tape when I opened the account, they have now writtern to me and aplogized for the "mis-infomation" given.

All I asked for was a cheque book and I DID NOT want a the CGC!!!

I think it is a simple case of someone getting it wrong it happens all the time. I think that most people on this site are gratefulll to them for providing an account where most other banks do not

and remember you are always free to give up your co-op account and ask one of the the other banks for an account with a cheque book, vote with your feet if you feel that strongly about it

    Have already done just that.

We had a meeting with Nat West this week and they have agreed to give us an account with a cheque book, Visa debit card and online banking... :T

I think you over reacting abit co op have been very good to alot of people on here over the years there a god send to most people in fact.

However it makes me laugh how soon as people are no longer BR there want to get back on the credit ladder again, you would think you would have learnt your lesson.
