Hi guys,
This question has probably been asked over million times but I’m going to ask it anyway lol
So how many credit cards should one person have?
Seriously guys, I want you to tell me how many credit cards are sufficient and how much is just too much.
Thanks

There are no set numbers, it will all depends on your personal needs, income & of course ability to repay. You may want one only for balance transfer, another for purchases, incentives offered.
I personally have 5 credit cards and I shuffle balance around when I have some good offers.0

One, i have one. Paid off each month.0

2 - Amex and Barclaycard (if Amex ever not accepted).
Balance settled in full each month.
I might replace Barclaycard with Sandanter Zero in a few months time but two is enough.0

no more cards for me, is there any reason why you would want to change from Barclaycard to Sandanter, isn't Barclaycard supposed to better?
Its just I am thinking of applying for the Barclaycard in the next couple of months.

Barclaycard are fine- no problems with them. Foreign call centre was a bit of a pain but I do everything on line nowadays. I don't use the card very much as Amex is accepted everywhere I need it to be, so the Barclaycard has a £0 balance most of the time.
I'd change to Santander due to no charges for foreign transactions. That could be useful and would make it more attractive for using abroad on holidays. It would always be a backup as I like Amex and don't have any problems with it - however i think they charge 2.75% per foreign transaction so that puts me off.
Due to previous problems I will never have more than 2 cards. If I just had mastercard or visa I would probably just have 1 but I wanted cashback. Having Amex earns me over £100 in the first year, and the cashback is a powerful incentive for me to ensure that the account is managed correctly and settled in full each month.

Have had loads of Cards in the past.
Amazon for the £15 , play.com for £15 too and many others.
Main ones:
Virgin Amex : For Airmiles (main card)
Tesco : For Tesco points. ( Use it as a fall back card when places don't
accept my amex)
Paid off in full every month as well.0

I believe two is the prefect amount.Aim for two that you "Like".I had sub prime cards - Vanquis and Aqua - for about a year each, I got a Barclaycard account and closed my Aqua card. I then (not even a week ago) got a Sygma Silver card and closed my Vanquis account. Both I think are very good cards to have given my history with credit and I'll be proud to have them for the next couple of years.I think one card for big, infrequent purchases (low APR) and one for the monthly spends (cashback / points) is all that is needed Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48 Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

There isn't such a thing such as too many or too few credit cards. It is the amount of DEBT that matter.
I have 7 cards, all for different reasons and all for different offers. I make money out of them apart from one which does have a debt on it - Life of balance transfer because I bought new bathroom. It is cheaper then loan.0

Nobody sets the rules, therefore no-one on this board has the right answer.0
