Holiday Deposit

Options
what are my rights regarding a holiday I can no longer go on? I paid £100 deposit for me and my partner but unfortunetly could not go due to work commitments. I understand I will lose my deposit but after contacting the travel agents to tell them they said I would have to pay another £90 to cancel as it was a low deposit taken?? This was not made aware to me at the time of booking and now they have stated that if I dont pay this then I will be liable for the full amount of the holiday! Can they transfer the deposit to another holiday if I pay as I don't want to pay any more money to a holiday I can't go on - please help!!

You need to check the booking conditions for the travel company concerned. If they require a higher deposit than the agent took then you may well need to pay the extra. You will have agreed to those conditions when booking the holiday, even if you didn't read the booking terms.
