Dyson versus Miele - what do you think?

We have had a Dyson DC07 Animal for a few years now and the suction has definately got worse. When we first bought it, pushing it on carpet was very hard due to the suction. Now, even with the filter washed out, its not as good. We have tried everything, however I have heard that the DC07 does have a design fault where the dust cylinder gets clogged up.

However our previous 2 dysons have been great.
