Fixing robe hooks onto moulded doors

We've recently (thanks to advice on here ) bought a house and changed all the internal doors and they're all moulded. We now want to put "robe hooks" onto the doors in the bedrooms and bathroom, but is this possible - ie can we put this sort of hook on moulded doors? DH is a little nervous about wrecking the doors so we thought that we'd ask everyone on here.
If we can't, what do you suggest? We've had those hooks that fit on the top in rented houses, but now that we own our own house we'd like something that's a little more permanent!
Thanks in advance.

You can buy specific hooks that are designed for hollow doors. I had stainless steel ones and they were very effective.
Here's an example .... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-3-HOLLOW-WALL-OR-HOLLOW-DOOR-HOOKS-SIMPLE-FIT_W0QQitemZ220502119922QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=d7b8102e1260a0aad4d49054fedd6c9b
These are very basic ones, you do get some nicer designs. That was just the first link I found that showed what a hollow door hook was like.
Edit: You can also get plugs for hollow doors if you want to use ordinary hooks. .....http://www.avenuesupplies.co.uk/index.php?id=492&pid=4865&sid=1&category=General+Hardware+%26+Ironmongery+Anchors+Plugs+And+FixingsHerman - MP for all!0 -

Yes you can, I've done so recently. What I did was drill a small pilot hole (I used a drill bit which was quite a bit smaller than the screw diameter, I think it was 2mm). Then screw in but do not overtighten. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -
TK Maxx have some beautiful ones that sit over the top of the door. Not cheap looking at all."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I run a Maintenance Company and this is a common problem. You can put anything you like up provided you use the correct fixings!
You need to use cavity wall fixings. I always use Rawplug 'Uno'. These are designed specifically for hollow walls and doors. You can get them in a range of thicknesses from B & Q Etc. The Red ones would be fine. They are designed so that when you start to screw into them, the back opens up and acts as an anchor on the back. If you use these you can put up any robe hook you like.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
