HBOS query

I wonder if anyone can help.
From my credit file I have some info on an old loan - last 4 digits of the loan and payment dates, when the loan was settled etc. Problem is I don't have the loan account in full. HBOS say they can't find the account
I thought they had to retain those for 5/6 yrs. The loan was paid off in Oct 2005.
I can send a print out of my credit file but what else can I do? I don't want it to just drop away but not sure what else to do. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hi there
hope your well.
To what I know of depending if in England/Wales its 6 years, and Scotland 5 years they should hold all the info.
Did you request for a Subject Access Request (SAR) with payment of £10 postal order or cheque payment?
Sometimes if they do not provide your details, the only way may be a SAR, sorry If I have this wrong.

You can get your statements from a SAR from your Bank as Di mentions, this will list the loan number on the direct debit payments you have made.
either way, if you request a SAR from HBOS you should still get the information you need.
I had a similar experience where i tried to get info over the phone to be told it was no longer available, but it was in the information supplied with my SAR.
good luck, let us know how you get onI'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0
