Arrgh !! £450 leccy bill ,how ?
                    Hi
Can this even be possible ?:eek:
We are with Npower and our heating /hot water are gas .
We have an electric fire which is rarely used ,maybe for an hour or two some evenings during the very cold snap.
We do have a condenser dryer ( I understand these are more expensive and less efficient to run that vented dryers ? ) and that is used maybe for an hour every 2nd or third day .

            Hi
Have you read your meter and compared it to the bill?
GRB.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
            both readings are correct so in that respect 'apparently ' we have used that much electric ,i just dont see how ?
When i rang to check ,they made assumptions that i had under floor heating or storage heaters ,which we dont0 -
            Have you previously had estimated readings a now playing catchup
Fire an hour a day would costs much more than 30p an hour tops on full, and dryer about 20-30p a load0 -
            Nup ,its our first bill we were totally paid up before we moved too0

            Worst case with the dryer, 5 units per hour at an absurd 20p/unit and running 1hr a day every day is about £90 a quarter
More likely a dryer at an average 3.5 units/hour @ 10p/unit and on 3 times a week is about £14 a quarter.
Do you have several plasma screens and computers running 24/7?
Running costs for some dryers can be found here
