I would guess it would be the same as importing any other vehicle.0

Perhaps it's just the same as importing any other vehicle. Will phone the DVLA on Monday and ask.0 -
I was looking at that earlier. No mention of re-importing a previously exported vehicle, but then perhaps I shouldn't expect that it would.

It is exactly the same as importing any other vehicle except you do not pay the £55 first reg fee and you do not need a type approval certificate. You will need insurance and MOT sorted prior to re-registration.
Quite easy to do as it will just be re-issued with the original registration mark (in 99.9% of occassions).

While you're on, when I exported the car I filled in and submitted Section 11 of the V5C, but receive nothing back - either to my address overseas (which I provided) or to the UK address where the car was registered prior to export. Is this normal?0 -
Good stuff, thanks. I was hoping you'd come on.

Yep it's normal. It's states on Section 11 that you will not receive an Export Cert. Bit odd when all they do is send blooming confirmation letters and then fine people who haven't had them but hey!

I did notice that, yes.
What do you mean?
If for example you sell your car and send off logbook which is recieved by DVLA you then get confirmation from them that vehicle is sold. this is your proof. If you do not have this letter (cos logbook didn't reach DVLA or you didn't send it/gave it to new keeper) and the new owner doesn't tax it then you could receive fine for not taxing it as you would still be registered keeper. DVLA places a lot of emphasis on this confirmation letter so I always found it very odd that they never sent on confirming export status.
