Great idea in principle, but sadly not that effective, since it is often a day or two behind, and doesn't report all stations in an area....Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

Not as effective as it used to be in my area.
We shop at tescos and take advantage of their 5p off per litre offer. More than offsets driving miles to the cheapest in the area.0 -
Yep sadly bit slow to update. All stations in my area that I passed are 113.9p but reported there as 111/112.9p.0

I always wished you could type in a route, say your route to work, then it'd work out the cheapest along your route. Simply being able to put in a radius of where you choose isn't good enough if you work (say) 50 miles away there could be some great bargains within 1 mile of the route you take. It'd take hours to go along the whole route yourself mile by mile, taking notes.
Edit: after I typed that, I remember another site that worked on a google map basis, but relied on people putting their own markers/prices in ... so that had potential to perform a similar task, but I doubt the ability of people to be motivated enough to keep the markers/prices up to date and relevant. I'll see if I can find it.
Edit 2: Here it is: http://www.whatgas.com/
I found this along the way too, but it is pants in my area: http://www.bagnall.co.uk/taxigas/pumpprices.asp so probably not good in many other areas.
Whatgas tells me there are three petrol stations in my town. 113.9p, 115.9p and 118.9p. But as there are only three all the locals already know which one's always cheapest

Don't the new Tomtoms do something similar?PasturesNew wrote: »I always wished you could type in a route, say your route to work, then it'd work out the cheapest along your route.
