divx video file converstion

I have a tv series I've downloaded as a divx video file which works fine on my pc but I want to view it on my television thru a usb stick via my wd mini media player.
At the moment the wd mini media player doesn't recognise the files so I need help converting it to a more recognisable format such as avi which works fine.
Any ideas to how I can do this ?

Normally for video file conversions I'd suggest Super, which can handle almost anything. But I'm not sure it will handle divx. But it's free to download, so I guess worth a try anyway.

Have found a programme called river past video cleaner which is in the process of doing the job now (hopefully). I've been waiting since 1996 for the BBC to repeat Crocodile shoes and I can wait no longer, I ve got the weekend set aside to see it and its taken me all week to download and then the damn thing doesn't play.
