What to do? New car decisions
I've put a deposit down for a brand new white vauxhall corsa 1.3 diesel for £8100 including fees.
Deposit was £100, and i got this price through the scrappage scheme
I wanted a change in colour as i'm having doubts about the white, seeing as there are so many white corsavans out on the road. Unfortunately the scheme being over, I'd have to pay a lot more. I've found that with the swappage deal, I could get the same car for £8600, i'm not sure if i would lose on the deposit though. With change of colour + £395, so all in all £8995 to get it in black
is it worth it? is white not as bad as i make out? when i saw it in a show room i saw it on an SRI and it looked good.
should i keep it in white? should i pay an extra £1000 to get it in black?

No matter what you buy, you wont please all of the people all of the time. What makes a corsavan a corsavan is the fact its got welded up side windows, not the colour of it.
Your 'mates' are only trying to wind you up (a) because they can or (b) because they drive something older.0 -
I think you got done. The white elephant is the one that they couldn't shift, otherwise they can easily waive the £395.
One option is to get the white one and spend the £395 on getting a custom paint job, or stick-on decals. Notify the DVLA of the new colour. Insurance may go up.0 -
doing it with AC they're not big fans of giving an extra discount. hell i couldn't even get a tank of fuel.
£395 would get me a **** custom paint job wouldnt it?
was the manager lying when he told me that he couldn't change the colour because of the scrappage being finished and the VIN number having to be changed? it would make sense if it was true0 -

How did he get done?
How much profit do you think a dealer makes on an entry level corsa that he can simply throw away £395?
£395 for a custom paint job? :rotfl:0 -

+1
£895 would buy a decent set of rims and a vinyl roof. Add a set of lowering springs and you'd have something not far from this...

Stick with the white, brilliant car colour if you keep it reasonably clean, good for touiching up little scratches etc, and not everyone else has got one.
Black cars are just too common and unless spotlessly clean look filthy within minutes, marks and dents shout out to be noticed and touching in is a nightmare, i wouldn't give you a thankyou for black.
Enjoy the pleasure of your new car and enjoy the lolly you've saved too.0
