Do you think a burglar actually ever would of considered using street view to scope out houses to break into? Or has everyone's excessive paranoia just put the idea out there for them now? :o

Planning an "escape route" using GSV would be like riding a space hopper to the North Pole. Possible, but you'd die of boredom or old age long before you got there.

Any serious burglars would be either a) not clever enough or b) too clever to use GSV as time spent faffing around on GSV would be better spent actually robbing.

I'm actually quite bemused by some people's paranoia. The same type of paranoia that leads people to blank out their car registrations in Ebay listings when they've been driving the car round for the last 5 years with it on view to the whole world, but as the saying goes "there's n'owt as queer as folk". :)

It is possible that quite a few people blocked there houses.. more possible that the road was blocked on the day they went round ie bin lorries or someone double parked

Just checked my address, and every street around mine (middle of a large town) is on, but my road isn't, and I was curious as to why? Any ideas - it's not a short road, so one or two people requesting privacy shouldn't affect the whole lot?
(Whereas my sister who lives up a dirt track in the wilds of Cumbria is still on there.)

Could just be an oversight, or if there was a glitch in their software it might have not flagged up the road as needing to be done. Or might have been when they intended to do it the road was closed for some reason (roadworks) and due to time constraints they couldn't go back

Could have been blocked - it's a one way street and quite often has the traffic held up for the bin men, people unloading stuff, or just parking in the middle of the road for a chat with their mates.!
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

could argue it's not for 'entertainment' purposes, but then, gsv also has plenty of practical uses.

    lmao

Most of the motorway has "Jam Cams" as well!

Omg do you just not read?????????

This person has just stated and you have even quoted them, that its NOT about burglars.

"Omg do you just never calm down????????"

If you re-read my post, the first paragraph was a direct response to them. The rest of the post was simply addressing some of the (maniacal) comments people (including yourself) are spouting. (Hence the new paragraph starting with "Anyone thinking that..." ie. it applies to more than one person)

From this, and your earlier outbursts on the thread, I respectfully suggest you 'take a chill pill'.

I believe this post was your response in reference to CCTV, as previously mentioned, yes, they are posted on the internet, not just still shots, but live feeds too. So it's hardly absurd...

Tsk, tsk, they're supplying it as a JPG file, scaled up to house size that will look terrible.

For only an extra pound, I'd be willing to supply the image as a vector graphic that can be freely scaled to any resolution without loss of quality or clarity :rotfl:
