Nationwide Flex Account application

Hello, just after some advice if anyone has had a similar experience?
My husband and I have applied for a joint Flex Account at Nationwide this morning. After the advisor put in all the information, a screen came up saying something along the lines of they couldn't make a decision there and then. The advisor didn't seem to be too concerned about this, and said that quite often applications are pulled out randomly for checks like this. She then spent about 10mins telling us what would happen when the account was open, when they would send out debit cards, etc, and that she'd be in touch later in the week, i.e, indicated that she didn't seem to think there was a problem with the application.
We have assumed the worse and that this will be a "computer says no" situation but were wondering what our chances of success are. Does anyone have any experience of this? I presume if it was a straightforward decline we would have been told there and then? (I appreciate Nationwide are notoriously picky about whom they approve for accounts).
Thanks for reading
Jen

Do you have a chequered credit history?
If not then I would suggest you should have no problem."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Updated to add that the application was approved today, just in case anyone experiences a similar situation in the future.0
