i will putting that towards my debt's, namely my credit cards first, then the loan
annie fanny - no no i see what your getting at, its just i had considered it an looked at it as using one debt to pay another so was put off in the past.
but it now does look like a good option.
i will go into the bank on monday an see about getting a student account (i think there's also an offer for a free ipod - could be an extra bit of cash off ebay there too.
)
also managed 2 spend free days in a row - whoop, going for number three today
dont worry about being heavy handed, i prefer the honesty than the sugar coated nice approach.0 -
managed another spend free day today - thats at least 4 this week!!
whoop!!
tomorrow i'm gonna go in and enquire about a student account and apart from postage cost for the 'reclaiming bank charges' letters i hope for another (pretty much) no spender0 -
Well done yeslek. Just a little advice about the student account. It's best to go into banks near the Uni or one of the bigger branches. They are more clued up generally about student banking then the smaller branches.
Let us know how you get on!

thanks a lot for the support guys.
went into my bank today and had to make an appointment about switching to a student account (something about being short staffed today) so i'm going in friday morning (my next day off)
i think i may have a look around at student accounts elsewhere in the time being - though i'd rather stay where i am, its easier then swapping anything over.
also sent off my letters to claim back unfair bank charges.
just sold my old phone on ebay so thats another £57 i can throw at my halifax credit card

well after a bit of trouble i'v finally applied for a student account with my bank - just have to wait a few days to see if i'v been accepted.
fingers crossed
good new is that i got back my statements from barclays - they own me £240 in charges!!
i was shocked, i thought i only missed a small handful of payments.
ahh well, thats another chunk off the credit cards
now just have to wait for the halifax (who oddly, are the only ones to have taken the £10 fee from me)0 -

i'v got my fingers crossed too
it means i can clear my halifax card, my car and my pc and means i'mm be £150 better off a month0 -
got a letter this morning - apparently they cant confirm i'm a student and all i have is a letter with grades from last year and a welcome note for signing up next year.
i'm gonna have to wait until i get my student loan confirmation through before i can go into the bank and show them.
on the plus side of things it did sound positive that i'd get one.
fingers crossed.0
