£20 is more than generous in my opinion! Also as someone who also has a thomas cook gift list we have booked our honeymoon based on what we can afford, and have all our spending money prepared too as would never want to assume that anyone would give. Why i point this out is that if someone was to donate £20 to us i would be like "oh wow ***** contributed" and i would be exactly the same if it was a fiver! Its more that its nice to feel someone was bothered enough to go and get you a gift/give towards your honeymoon than actually what they give, and they arent going to not go on honeymoon if people arent generous!

I thought £20 from before you suggested it so I wiould say that's right.
I wouldn't think of it this way personally but if they invite 100 people to the night who all give £20, that's £2000. I'd say that's plenty!

I'm with everyone here. If I was going to an evening reception I always give about 20-25. A little bit more during the day.

Exactly - every little counts. Even if everyone was to put in £5 and there were 150 folk there that would be £750 towards a honeymoon.

Most people gave us £20 for our engagement and we were made up with that, we weren't expecting anything so it was great. I'd never judge anyone on what they gave, I don't know everyones bank balance and weddings are expensive enough to attend without going in to triple figures for a present
