Not only no free parking, but a hideous 'Loop' which you can't find your way out of, and a mentality of 'every man for himself' such as you might find in Paris or Naples! I drove to Leeds once, never again. Always the train for me now.

    Hi
You could park in the University. Not free, but it used to be quite a lot cheaper. The best place that we park these days is in china town near the markets you might have to drive around a few times

It's free to park in the university at weekends - drive in the entrance by the Parkinson building, turn left and keep going round until you see a huge car park with lots of trees.

For the other side of Leeds park for free at the top end of St. Mary's Road, outside Emmaus.

If there's no space in St. Mary's Road then the real safest car park in Leeds is Emmaus Leeds car park - always someone on duty to watch your car, £1 for an hour, £3 all day, AND if you spend in the fantastic second-hand furniture shop and nice cafe and get a receipt then you get that taken off your parking. If we park there then we often go in and buy £3 worth of second hand books, or have a sandwich, as you might as well!

Lovely lovely people in there too.

    Hiya A Lancashire Lad,

I'm a Cas Lass and can't see what the appeal is for people to come here shopping. Admitted it is getting better now the market has moved etc but it's still full of charity shops and takeaways!! Hopefully when the redevelopment is complete it will be like it was years ago.

PS would like to say that the people are really friendly though.

If you go to Leeds on a Sunday, it's free in the big car park under the 'dark arches' below the railway station. And i think it's quite a bit cheaper than most of the car parks through the week as well.

If you want a little excercise you could try the Crown Point retail park - free to park and about 15 minutes walk into the city centre.

    Hope that helps

Rebecca, it's not that friendly when you've just come out of 'The Jungle' with your Rhino's shirt on. :rotfl:

Where abouts is this? I work at Civic Hall and currently pay £6.80 a day to park at Woodhouse Lane Multistorey, so much cheaper!!!

    Cheers!

Or the markets carpark is also free on a sunday it's near the police station, might have trouble finding a spot though. One of the reasons I got to Leeds is for Lush too :D so I'm not alone.
  • How long can you park in the crown point retail park for?
