Well I had my first shopping foray for February today & spent £36.79 at Sainsburys There are 2 adults & a 14 yr old growing boy in our family(plus hubby is training for London Marathon so is gut on legs on legs at the moment).

Normally I can spend between £200-£250 per month on groceries so would like to get this done by £100.00 this month at least.

Got multibuys worth£8.79 plus reduced goods totalling saving of £3.01 and got a weeks worth of dinners plus a treat of Match magazine for sick son(£1.60) plus lots of fruit(bananas, grapes, pears & apples £5.71 all organic)) to fill up hungry husband so am quite pleased.

Also got Danacol youghurt drink on BOGOF which was good as have been told I need to reduce my cholesterol.

I also buy a 27 pack of KitKats a week. Then i split it into 3 (3 children), and what is left goes in the freezer to stop the little blighters from eating them too.

Sorry to be stupid but what do you mean, like each kid gets 9 KitKats each and if they have any they haven't eaten at the end of the week those ones go in the freezer?

Not quite, sorry i didnt make myself clear. I buy 27 KitKats. I give each child 7, there is 3 kids so that makes 21. The 6 that is left gets bunged in the freezer.

for those looking to save money get a shower puff. it makes shower gel last much longer just squeeze a little onto the puff (round netting ball )and loads of lather.

    On with the grocery challenge!

I know what you mean about all the cooking!

Today for dinner we are having toad in the hole with Linda Mcartney sausages(bought on offer at Sainsburys-buy any two LM products for £2.00-normally £1.43 each so i bought the sausages & the country pies which we love!) followed by homemade date slice made with reduced purchase dates.

For lunch its salad & value coleslaw sandwich(made with reduced bread) plus melon & yoghurt that I bought home from work with my lunch allowance.

Need to save some money as car is in for MOT today-am just praying that it will pass with little or no work required!!

I personally think shower gel is a rip off anyway - most things that need national TV advertising are - it's just detergent and water with a bit of fancy colouring and scent. I get 3 bars of soap for 21p from Sainsbury's and it works just as well!

I have an aversion to soap! I hate the slimey feel of it so prefer liqiuid soap for washing hands and shower gel.
