Contribution based jsa

Hi , to claim contribution based jsa I must be working under 16 hours - I work 5 hours per week. Your oh must either be not working or working less than 24 hours a week? well oh works full time so I guess it is not worth me trying to claim? Is it not for the 1 half of a couple to claim wile looking for more hours?
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.

    Contributions JSA does not take into account your partners income it is based on your national insurance contributions...income based would look at the household income

    Thank you, it might be worth trying as the new tax year started in January for 08 and 09. I did not qualify last year as I had not enough NI contributions.

  • There is nothing to stop you claiming - If you are looking at contributions based you can apply online.
