MFi and old units

I have nearly £200 of clubcard deals vouchers. I am looking to improve my kitchen. Would I be able to reuse some of my old units within an MFI design. Would they do that for me? I would arrange the fitting myself. The unit cabinets themselves have a dark wood finish to them. Am I right in thinking that you can cover up the edges with an ironon stuff and the sides with panels so that the cupboards can all look white? Thanks in advance

    Yes you could do that.
The only problem might be that the old units are in inches and the new will be metric , so the height/depth/width might be slightly different.

Were you thinking of fitting matching new doors to the old units? I have not had any dealings with MFI, will they sell you just doors?

I was hoping to buy some carcasses and new doors to go on the lot. I was hoping it was a sneaky way of making the kitchen more useable for little/no money!! I will have to ask them whether they will sell just doors.

My sister replaced some off her kitchen units and replaced the doors on the rest .
    She bought from B&Q

MFI will sell just the doors, but they will charge you as if you are buying a full unit (plus a bit extra!). They told me that this was because they have to break up the packs...

B&Q sell the doors and units seperately, but if you want to fit B&Q doors to MFI units the hinge spacing is slightly different, so you will have to drill new holes in the unit to match the hinge mounting points. You'll also need to check if the door sizes are the same - most are close enough, but things like bridging units and extractor fan units are different. I'm in the process of seeing if this is viable myself - otherwise I'll rip out the old MFI units and replace with B&Q (I'll certainly not be putting in MFI given their policy on replacement doors...).

It's maybe worth checking who manufactured the old units first, besides MFI and B&Q, there's also Homebase (was Texas & Focus) and Wickes (plus others, I'm sure).

At Ikea you can buy as much or as little of the unit as you need.
