absolutely disgusting experian rating

I owe a total of 2700 in loans and an overdaraft ,I have outstanding 17000 on my mortgage value of property is 95000..

Decided I might get a Loan to purchase a 2nd hand car and go on holiday, checked my experian account, credit score was 854 just
above average ,but they had a previous address so not on electorial list ,
advised to update my address to improve score ,which I did...

I applied for 3 different loans but got rejected by all ,poor credit rating
how could this be ?

Just checked my rating am now showing as on electorial list, My rating
is now 442 Very Poor !!!!!! because I applied for loans my rating has now
dropped 500 points ..

Ive never missed a payment on anything in the last 6 years how can I have this rating ,I rang they gave me some bollox about searches causing
the drop ..

I have 78000 in equity, debt 2700 have never missed a payment
in 6 years but cant get a loan ,Htf does that work out ?

I am self employed which I know is a problem ,But that has nothing
to do with my credit score ,unreal..

has anyone else had a simular rating for no apparent reason other than applying loans?

This rating in no way reflects my ability to pay ,it is a disgrace, infact
it is close on deformation of character ..

I'd definitely sue them for deforming your character.

Why do you care? It is common knowledge that the experian score is a money making scam that bears no true relevance on your actual credit rating! Think about this before paying them 6 quid a pop for a random number - how do experian know each lenders scoring criteria when they are all individual to the lender?

The answer - they dont. The Experian credit score is a guess at best to direct you to products you MIGHT be accepted for. MIGHT.

Problem is - most of the times the number is so random it is ill advised to follow it.
  • Experian number is about as much use as last week's lottery ticket! The number means nothing but generates revenue for experian by those who view it as essential to find out their score. Save £6 and use your common sense on the report.
  • Well I have recieved 3 letters quoting my experian rating as the reason for being turned down ,2 are from high street banks ..
  • I'd definitely sue them for deforming your character.

    Definitely :rotfl:
    £1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50600

HSBC 8% 12mth regular savings = £80 out of a maximum remaining allowance of £2500

    "3 months' salary" reserve = £00 / £3600
  • yo! for payday loans :j:T its the way forward ...

experian will not be getting another £6 ...

Ive had the £49 brokers the £1.50 a minute mob all seem interested in me :T

LOL this should be the stock reply on half the posts on here! :j

Companies won't use the credit 'score', they will look at the way you have managed your accounts and see if they match up with their preferred customers. Unfortunately it seems that you didn't match up so you would have to get the loan from somewhere else.

If all else fails you can appeal but it's not guaranteed to work.

Wow... defamation of character just because you have a poor credit score? Bit dramatic that. It's a credit score... it's about as accurate as a playing darts with javelins.

    No you have not.

You have had 3 letters telling you to check your Experian credit file, not your score. Your file as in account conduct, missed payments if any, electoral registration, linked accounts etc...

Not your score, as has been said time and time again on here - its just a number that Experian make up.

Call them and ask them can lenders see their score if you dont believe what you are reading.
