Not sure if this is the correct thread or if it should be motoring.
The problem is that a line fuse on my car battery charger on the negative wire that clips to the battery has blow; there is no indication of what amp the fuse was. Can anyone help so that I can replace the fuse with the correct one.

Did the charger come with a manual? What make is it - try googling, you might find more info on what fuse rating is needed. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

a 1 amp fuse should be ok. you can always go up in size if required. makes more sense to start off small and work up. doubt you will need more than a 5 amp max.
a typical rate of charge for a 12v lead acid battery is 1 amp or less on a trickle charge.Get some gorm.0 -
1 amp may be too low - try 5 amp. I don't think 240V household fuses are recommended for a car battery charger (on the output side)."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Is this a clear glass cartridge-type fuse with metal ends? If so, look very carefully at the metal end caps before coming to the conclusion it doesn't show a rating as I've seen some where the rating was engraved in very small letters!0
