Tracking question.

Hi all I'd like some advice about the tracking on my car - it has been pulling to the left for some time and the steering wheel doesn't sit 'straight' when driving - need's a constant (but not much) pressure to keep the car from wandering to the side.

I've had the car tracked once or twice when I've bought a new tyre but the car still wanders to the side more than I feel it should even given the camber of the road.

Will a four-wheel alignment help?

Thanks!

i would check out the suspension components first on that side before getting the alignment done
  • As above, before any 4-wheel alignment is performed (and don't go to any old place, get a full laser alignment done, and it won't be cheap either) you or a mechanic should check the integrity of the suspension, front to back.
  • Thanks for the replies gents it's a 54 Corsa.

I had car that pulled to the left, had it tracked, which didn't fix it.
The only thing that did eventually was swopping the tyres back to front, and diagonally. (can't think of any good reason why though) Check the tyres aren't directional if you try this.
