Hi dawn, i have in my propagator/conservatory
Chillis
peppers
tomatoes
cauliflower
cabbages
Early Potatoes
i do plan to grow
sweetcorn
lettuce
leeks
and will start these off at easter
I plan on keeping them in til the frost passes. If you have a plastic greenhouse you need to ensure the frosts have passed before palnting out. It also depends on where you are
Most seed packets state when ideal sowing time is for inside and outside. The further north you live the later you should start - or so my dad tells me! He works on the theory of every 50 miles further north equals 5-7 days later.
He tells me we live 250 miles north so i should be planting out a month later than the pack states ... but each to their own!
Easter is traditionally the time to start - but some start sooner, some later0 -
I have just sown loads of seeds and put them in my spare bedroom.
tomatoes
dwarf french beans
chilis
aubergines
lovage
parsley
dill
fennel
rudbekias
echinaceas
nasturtiums
Im sure there are more just cant remember!
Potatoes are chitted ready to go in soon and plenty more seeds to sow in the coming months

Can you explain how you rig this up please to hang over the seedlings? Sorry if Im a bit thick, I just cant visualise it.
For OP, you can start loads of things off now in your spare room. Look at seed packets they tell you when to sow. Are you thinking bedding plants or veg?0 -
Today I was mostly....
Potting runner beans, dwarf French beans, peas and sweetcorn....
Potting on toms, cukes, peppers and sprouts.
Going to plant out early carrots, leeks, onions and potato's under fleece in the next few days to a week, and crossing my fingers. And everything else....
The new moon cycle starts Monday so now is a good time to sow......

I have been starting a lot of seeds in propagators on my windowsills - running out of window sills in fact. It seems too cold at night to keep them in an unheated greenhouse.0

South West Midlands, Severn Valley, very sheltered, and I have very large window sills and a heated greenhouse.... :P
The Met five day forecast is looking good aswell......
So long as we dont have a heavy frost, all should be ok......;)To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
