You can have insurance ( and probably should ) in the company name?Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Having the keeper as the Ltd company has benefits re points if speed cameras and multiple drivers are involved.
Could you not keep it in the Ltd and get insurance with the subbie as a named driver? That’s what we’ve done in the past0 -
If you fill it out as Mr X, C/O company name, address and send to DVLA with a covering letter explaining that you want to add on the Mr X name for the insurance purposes and you would like it not to add on another keeper.
This *shouldn't* add another keeper, but it's up to DVLA ultimately!

Hi there,
there will only be one driver, who doesn't drive very fast (even if he did, it would be impossible in this old van)!
Unfortunately we cannot find a cheap insurance company that will allow a ltd company to have van insurance. I looked online all day and they all insist on "the applicant must be the registered keeper". And the applicant must be a person.
Not a problem, just a bit annoying to increase the no. of previous keepers on the logbook by 1 just for this purpose (if that is what is necessary)!
Just had a look through our van file and over the years we’ve been with Pearl, Cornhill, Highway and Avis all with a ltd company as the reg keeper & policy holder.
We’re currently paying about £200 FC for a long & high 10 year old Iveco daily with full ncb and 4 named drivers, no kids, a couple of claims but no convictions.0
