I suspect that once you get over the first hurdle, the relief for both of you will be massive. he probably knew you were hiding something but not what.
Can remember one OP whose partner was convinced s/he was having an affair and was so glad it was just debts. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
well done :T
I would recommend keep a diary going on here and posting your soa etc to keep the momentum on the dealing with your debts. It will also show your OH that you're really trying to be debt free!

Well done Lucifer, it can only get better from here! Suggest you read Martin Lewis's "The Money Diet" and Alvin Hall's "Your Money or your life", both excellent books for people who want to get their finances under control. (Reckon Martin owes me a bit of commission as I keep recommending his book to people on here!

Thank u for the gr8 advice and support, I have had my share of tears over it and my stupidity. My dad dropped dead suddenly and it was horrible, I had to identify the body etc as he had no identification on him. I didn't deal with it very well as we were so close. It haunted me and I then decided life was for living.... Unfortunately took it too literally!! 2 years later after having spent thousands upon thousands determined to have a good time.
As the depression that consumed my days lifted so did the realisation of trying to replace my dad with silly things that meant nothing. I take full responsibility for not getting help and my subsequent blow out and have lived within budget since slowly chipping away at my debts. I think my other half thought I was shutting him out when I said no about some financial assistance for his son, when I would have loved to have helped but couldn't. I knew then I had to confess. "I will be debtfree":p0 -
Well done on telling your OH, I'm so glad he took it well, it must be such a relief.
I'm sorry you lost your dad and had to identify his body, that must have been awful for you and so devastating.
You are on the right road now and can be more relaxed now your OH knows.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160
