I applied for the new 0% on purchases Virgin Credit card and was turned down. I have never been turned down by any other credit card company. In the last 18 months or so I have applied for and been granted 5, 4 of them with 0% on purchases and as they reach the end of that, I pay it off and discontinue the account. I even got an AmEx card which I am told is the most difficult to get.

To add insult to injury, the email rejecting me was patronising enough to offer me a Vanquis card.

I find that whenever I touch anything to do with Virgin, it goes wrong - they were THE most annoying broadband provider for the year I was stuck with them (on ADSL), I couldn't wait to get with a decent provider, in this case O2. I am planning to fly to San Francisco later this year, no way am I flying Virgin, I expect they will find some excuse for refusing to let me on the 'plane, like the CC, without an explanation! I just hope BA is still in business!

Virgin CC is run by MBNA, Virgin only gives it his name to the product....nothing to do with Virgin itself

There is your reason! - Like all of us, Credit Cards want long term relationships.

You seem to be a "Wham-bang-thank-you-Mam" kind of guy and you have been found out. :D

Possible, I suppose, but ONLY when it comes to CCs!!! I've only terminated one and I got a Saga card last week.

And I still won't fly Virgin!
