Hi all
FTB needing help here!
Im looking at a shared ownership property with asking price of £180k of a % share, can I offer a lower than the £180k price for the % share?
Or with shared ownership whatever price asked for is it, no more negotiation allowed?
THANK YOU!!!!

I know quite a few people who negotiated down, though most of those did it based on their mortgage company valuation. How long has it been on the market before? Is it a resale or a new build? You might have more luck with a new build!0

Doesn't hurt to ask.
Some other posters, who investigated buying the same house through both the open market and Shared Equity routes, found that Shared Equity agents will not provide the same, if any, level of discount - until, as Bex says, forced to by a valuation.0 -
Read through this forum on all the problems that can happen with shared ownership.
I think it's a con to keep house prices high.0 -
